Aspen Ladd

Aspen Ladd began her journey in combat sports at the teenager age. Along with BJJ, she also trained in boxing, wrestling and kickboxing. At age 18, she made her amateur debut at WCFC. Ladd built on this victory and went on a 3-fight victory streak in Ultimate Reno Combat finishing her opponents in the opening round in all the fights. Then, she went to WCFC again and beat Leslie Rodriguez in a unanimous decision. Aspen won against Silvia Babaeghian Maddy Simmons and Cynthia Calvillo prior to facing Cynthia Calvillo in WCFC 9 Cynthia dominated Aspen to defeat her in a unanimous decision, putting a black mark on Ladd's records in her amateur. Ladd recovered from the loss with a win over Roma Pawelek in Tuff-N'-Uff, making her record 8-1. Aspen made her pro debut in 2015 when she signed with Invicta FC. She faced Ana Carolina Vidal at Invicta FC 11 and dominated her in the first round to win a TKO. Invicta took on her in the Bantamweight division and won via armbar submission in the second round. Aspen employed the strong skills she had learned in wrestling to beat McGill. Aspen ended the fight with a TKO (3rd round) (elbows, punches). Aspen was then up against Jessica Hoy (138.1lb at Invicta FC) as the weight of a "catchweight"(138.1lb), because Ladd failed to make weight. Aspen, however, beat Hoy by using TKO. In her last fight for Promotion, she beat Sijara Eubanks by unanimous decision at Invicta FC 21. Aspen Ladd competed in her UFC debut against Lina Ladsberg. She outclassed Lina by pounding and grounding her to the ground, gaining the TKO in the second round. Ladd continued to dominate and picked up a more amazing victory in her subsequent match against Tonya Evinger in UFC 229. Ladd was victorious in round one and received the Performance of the Night Prize. Her first major fight came in her next fight in UFC Fight Night dos Anjos vs. Lee against Sijara Eubanks in the Invicta FC rematch. Both fighters put up an intense battle that concluded with Ladd winning via unanimous decision and both fighters getting an award known as the Fight of the Night bonus. Ladd's first loss came in her next fight against Germaine de Randamie in Ladd's first UFC main event fight. Randamie defeated Ladd within 16-seconds, ending her winning streak. Yana Knitskaya in the UFC 7 ESPN 7's 3rd round, was defeated by Randamie. In her place, she fought Norma Dumont in her most recent UFC fight. It was a loss by unanimous decision.
