Abbie Cornish (born 7 August 1982) is an Australian actor from Australia. Betty Gilpin.........................American actress Betty Gilpin was fortunate to have both of her parents be professional actors. Jack Gilpin, who starred in Adventureland as well as The Mothman Prophecies among other films, was her father. Ann McDonough played the mother. The affection and love from her parents made the choice to study acting a natural choice for the younger Betty Gilpin. Fordham College is where Betty Gilpin learned her craft. Gilpin began her acting career off-Broadway as she auditioned for film and TV roles. Gilpin was able to land a regular role in the network's Law & Order: Criminal Intent between the years 2001-2011. This was followed by minor roles as ghosts as a ghost in Ghost Town and The Northern Kingdom. Gilpin was able to land a few TV guest appearances in the years following until she got her debut break in 2013 by landing a recurring role on Nurse Jackie. Gilpin was the lead character on Nurse Jackie as Dr. Carrie Roman Gilpin on 34 episodes, until Nurse Jackie was cancelled in June 2015. Gilpin appeared the same year in True Story, a mystery thriller.
