Annette Funicello (born Annette Funicello) was an American musician, actress and performer. Her most famous role was as one of the Mickey Mouse Club's "Mouseketeers". When she was a teenager she began her singing career. She became well-known for songs such as 'Tall Paul' and "Pineapple Princess.. She was born in Utica and with Italian immigrant parents, Annette was a shy teenager. As she wished to have success in her career as an entertainer she began performing and dancing. Mid-1950s she gained significant recognition through her performances in "Disney" sketches. Annette was able to shed her Disney image as she got older and began taking on adult characters. The most recognizable role she played was as the pioneer in the beach party genre. She appeared on films including "How to Stuff A Wild Bikini.' Pajama Party. The Beach Party,and Beach Party.
